December 1, 2014
This past weekend we played in the Safeway Berth Bonspiel in Neepawa. We showed great team tenacity on difficult ice conditions and completed the event undefeated. We have our spot in the Provincial Championships to be held in Brandon in February. This is a team picture taken after our win. Next weekend we play in a cash spiel at the Thistle Club, and the following weekend we play in an important event, the Manitoba Curling Tour Championship to be held at the Assiniboine Memorial Curling Club.
October 21, 2014
We had an outstanding weekend at the Canad Inns Classic in Portage la Prairie. In what was by far the toughest field of the year, a field that included several national and world champions and Olympic medalists, we made it to the semifinals. The game that got us to the playoffs was a barn-burner against Team China in which the team played exceptionally well and William made several spectacular shots that led to two 4-enders. We then won our quarterfinal game against Jeff Stoughton, former national and world champion. We made several giant leaps forward and will work to carry that momentum into the second half of the season.

The curling season is officially here and in full swing now. We have played 4 events and although the results have been below our expectations we have beaten some Olympians along our way and lost some close battles. The last 4 events have been tough on us but we will be better off for it as we have experienced what great teammates we are to each other during some tough losses. We can put those events behind us and chalk them up to learning experience. Now here we are, ready to roll in Manitoba for the first event this year in the province to be held this weekend in Portage La Prairie, MB. Lots of great teams will be there, but I think we are ready to take a run this weekend. Please feel free to come out and cheer us on and meet the team if it works out for you. Games are Friday, Saturday, Sunday with the championship round on Monday.
