Perspective is Your Greatest Asset

It’s about having information at a glance and the tools you need when life happens and questions arise.

Online Transfers

If you have a self-directed (nominee) account with FundEX Investments, B2B Bank or Canadian Western Trust, you may be able to make an online transfer from your bank account in just a few minutes. Here’s how:

FundEX Self-Directed Account – IA Advisory Services (IAAS)

  1. Sign into your banking institution’s online banking system.
  2. Navigate to the ‘Add Payee’ section.
  3. Add FundEX Investments as a ‘payee’. You can add nicknames for the accounts to simplify i.e. John’s TFSA.
  4. Enter your nominee account number. It starts with the letter ‘N’ followed by 8-10 numbers. You will find the number on your printed statement or by logging in to your account online via FundEX Wealthview. It is not to be confused with your FundEX Client ID, which appears in the top corner of your portfolio summary. Money can only be transferred via bill payment with your bank only if your FundEX plan is self-directed.
  5. Enter the dollar amount for the contribution and click the button to submit.
  6. FundEX will receive the funds and post the contribution to your account.

B2B Bank Self-Directed Account

  1. Sign into your banking institution’s online banking system.
  2. Navigate to the ‘Add Payee’ section.
  3. Add  B2B Bank Financial Services as a ‘payee’. Do not use other B2B payees.
  4. Enter your account number with B2B for the specific self-directed plan you want to transfer money to i.e. open, RRSP, spousal RRSP, TFSA. You will find the number on your printed statement or by logging in to your account online (either via FundEX Wealthview or B2B Bank Investor Access). The plan number will be either 7 or 8 digits long. It is not to be confused with your FundEX Client ID, which appears in the top corner of your portfolio summary.
  5. Enter the dollar amount for the contribution and click the button to submit.
  6. B2B will receive the funds and post the contribution to your account.

Canadian Western Trust (CWT) Self-Directed Account

  1. Sign in to your financial institution’s online banking system.
  2. Navigate to the ‘Add Payee’ section.
  3. Add Canadian Western Trust as a ‘payee’.
  4. You will indicate whether this is to be applied as a Fee Payment or as a Contribution. You can contribute to your self-directed RRSP, spousal RRSP, TFSA or open account.
  5. Your 8 digit CWT account number is required to add CWT as a payee. This account number is found on your CWT statements or by accessing CWeb. For account numbers with less than 8 digits, 0’s need to be added at the beginning of the account number to make the entry a total of 8 digits.
  6. Enter the dollar amount for the contribution and click the button to submit.
  7. CWT will receive the funds and post the contribution to your account.

Note:

  • Online contributions are not instant, so do not leave it until the RRSP deadline.
  • Unfortunately, not all financial institutions are set up for online transfers to FundEX, B2B Bank Financial or Canadian Western Trust.
  • You should notify Fraser & Partners when you have made the online transfer. We will watch for the deposit.

You can only make online contributions to self-directed (nominee) accounts. If your account is held directly with an investment company (eg Sentry, IA Clarington, etc.), you’ll have to make your investment the old-fashioned way. Please contact us for the details.
