Your advisor manages his/her own financial planning practice within the framework provided by our organization and securities regulators. While maintaining a generalist orientation, each of our planners also specializes in one or more areas including financial planning for: retirees, business owners and professionals, senior and middle managers, young families and pre-retirement. Within our group we have some very specialized expertise in the financial aspects of divorce, managing your finances if you’re working or living abroad, employee group benefit plans and risk management.
Our advisors are Certified Financial Planners (CFP®) and/or have a financial designation appropriate to their specialty. Advisors offer advice on mutual funds provided through FundEX Investments Inc. We are licensed to broker insurance products. We use the services of Financial Horizons Group and Hollis Insurance Inc. All professionals with Fraser & Partners maintain professional liability insurance coverage.
Jan Fraser, B.Ed.(Great Distinction), M.Ed., CFP®, CLU, CEA, CAFA Senior Financial Advisor
Jan leads the Fraser & Partners team as the Senior Financial Advisor. She brought the first financial planning franchise to Winnipeg in 1987 and successfully spearheaded its growth until 2004. Recognizing the benefit to clients she made the shift to greater independence by associating with mutual funds dealer FundEX Investments Inc.
Along with CFP®, CLU, CEA, and CAFA designations, Jan holds a Bachelor of Education degree, with a double major in mathematics and history, and a Master of Education specializing in adult learning and counselling. Prior to becoming a financial planner, she worked in the field of adult learning, as a consultant in post-secondary education, and as a partner in a Winnipeg-based management consulting firm.
Jan’s client base includes business owners, farm families, dual income couples, singles and retirees. Jan is particularly interested in working with people to implement tax-efficient strategies for retirement income, intergenerational wealth transfer and charitable giving.
Jan brings particular skill in inspiring people to discover and articulate what really matters to them and then to design and implement the strategies to realize their vision. This process of financial life planning aligns personal values, talents and resources with strategy. Jan has a keen grasp of the forces shaping the global economy, and knowledge of global markets, investment strategies, and financial products. Moby Christoffersen, CFP®, Financial Advisor
Working in the financial services industry since 2000, Moby enjoys helping clients focus on reaching their personal and financial goals and protecting their estates from events and taxation. His clients are typically successful business owners and families in the Winnipeg and surrounding areas.
Moby has successfully completed the Canadian Insurance and Canadian Securities Courses and is specializing in insurance and investment planning. In 2008, Moby proudly received his Certified Financial Planner designation (CFP®).
Jeff Matthisen, Planning Assistant
Jeff currently works on special projects at Fraser & Partners while he prepares to become a Planning Assistant and Insurance Support Specialist.
His background in process review for audit compliance and quality control are a perfect match for our highly compliance-driven environment. Jeff has a Diploma (Honors) Business Administration, Accounting, and Business/Management and completed the Canadian Securities Course (Honors). His attention to detail and quiet determination to “just get it done”, make him a welcome addition to our team.
Jennifer Ostrowski, Investment Processing Coordinator
Jennifer’s position with Fraser & Partners is primarily administrative. She is responsible for the processing of all client investment trades via FundSERV to the applicable mutual fund companies. It is Jennifer who ensures that clients’ investment instructions are completed accurately and in a timely fashion. Her patience and persistence in communicating with mutual fund client service departments make it possible to achieve results.
She brings valuable knowledge and experience in trading processes, having earned the mutual funds operations certificate granted by the Investment Funds Institute of Canada and having worked six years with mutual fund dealers prior to joining Fraser & Partners in 2006. To broaden her understanding of the overall planning process, Jennifer completed the first course in the CFP program, Personal Financial Planning.
Her excellent knowledge of compliance requirements enables Fraser & Partners to establish, maintain and update client information to meet and exceed industry standards.
James Zuzanski, Manager of Accounting and Systems
James is primarily responsible for corporate services including facilities management, accounting, payroll and all things related to IT. He has completed the Foundation Studies of the Certified General Accountant program, but his top priority is information technology.
He assists the client services team with income tax preparation and service.
Daniela Alfonso, Administrative Assistant
Daniela works as an Administrative Assistant at Fraser & Partners. Her tasks include archiving, filing and mailing client copies, among other things. She is a hard worker with great time management skills and is thrilled by everything she is learning at the office.
Daniela graduated from Red River College’s Business Administration Program this spring and is currently attending the University of Winnipeg to pursue her Bachelor of Business Administration degree.
Karrianne Wirth, Business & Marketing Consultant
Karrianne assists us in strategic planning and implements communications plans on our behalf. She develops materials for us and works with specialists to create tools that serve us in communicating with clients. She also assists us on workflow, processes and systems to deliver on our mission of Life Aligned®.
Karrianne has worked in the communications industry for over 15 years developing strategic marketing plans and working with creative teams on the development of brands, websites, social media, ad campaigns, events and much more. She’s worked with entrepreneurs in a wide variety of industries and managed the Self Employment (SE) Program delivered through the Province of Manitoba for unemployed or underemployed individuals starting their own small business.
Angela Hilland, B.Comm (Hons), CPA, CGA, Tax Professional
Angela is part of our tax team. She meets with our tax clients and helps navigate Canada’s tax rules.
As an accomplished business professional, with the Certified Professional Accountant and Certified General Accountant designations, Angela specializes in providing accounting and business advisory services to owner-managed businesses, including corporate and personal tax services. Angela has a broad base of knowledge in several functional areas, including financial and human resources management, strategic planning, information technology, marketing and business development. Angela holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Honours from the University of Manitoba and earned her CGA designation in 1999.
